Who is behind Made in French ?

Born in France, Floriane grew up inspired by the great diversity of beautiful interiors and pieces of furniture she was surrounded by.

Always passionate by the Arts, Decoration and Design, Floriane studied at The Ecole des Beaux-Arts and finalised her student life at «La Bonne Graine» school in the famous district of Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris.

Qualified has an upholsterer, she has been trained in France in the workroom of Jacques Fayolle (One of the Best Craftsmen of France) where she had the opportunity to improve her professionalism, combining traditional techniques with an experience of the finest sites (working with prestigious and delicate fabrics, restoring national furniture…).

After having travelled through out Europe and beyond, she finally settled down in Australia.

Traditional Upholstery

Specialized in antique furniture, traditional materials and techniques such as hand stitching, coconut fibre and horsehair are used to restore your ancient style armchairs, respecting the history and character of each piece.

In addition to the re-covery of your contemporary furniture, we can create custom made furniture considering the proportions, style, finish and level of comfort. Our knowledge and skills include modern upholstery techniques using solid hardwood frames and top quality luxury foams. Made in French is providing a complete process from measurements to installation of custom design banquette seating suitable for cafes, bars or restaurants according to your wish.
Available on request, services extend to wall upholstery and panelling.

Working with unique and noble fabrics coming from the most renowned international fabric houses, Made in French is able to associate the great diversity and originality of techniques to create decorative cushions, bed throws, foot valances, blinds, sheers, interlined curtains, swags and tails, etc...

Made in French is definitely "The Slipcover Maker" in Melbourne. Our custom slipcovers are tailored to fit perfectly your upholstered furniture such as sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, etc... paying particularly attention to details and focus on quality.
Lampshade

Our bespoke lampshades are handmade with care, offering an exceptional quality. We can make various shapes and sizes of bonded, soft or hand pleated lampshades and order various fittings. You may also have your own beautiful piece of material that you want made into a lampshade or pendant light.
